Portco Packaging Company
Family-owned for more than 80 years in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, Portco is a trusted leader and innovator in high-end packaging for food, agriculture, construction and retail markets.
We specialize in managing sophisticated VMI roll stock programs for applications from paper to laminated film. We’re an agile, responsive, service-oriented team, with a focus on consultation and collaboration, so you get the personal attention you deserve.
Even with more than eight decades in the business, we’re continually developing new and better products. And we’re proud to be a solvent-free, water-based house. Portco can help you employ green packaging and increase yield. Recyclable and biodegradable packaging options are one of our specialties.
We manufacture all of our products with an emphasis on sustainability. Throughout our cutting-edge process, we conserve energy, engage in environmentally responsible purchasing practices, and recycle and reuse wherever and whenever possible.
From our sales force to our finished products, we do what it takes to grow your business, and we help you decide exactly what you need to safely and efficiently ship, store and sell your product.
At Portco, we do much more than provide beautiful, strong, stand-out packaging. We are your reliable supply chain partner, offering competitive lead times, consistent quality, exceptional customer service and dedicated technical support.
History and Capabilities
Portco Packaging opened its doors in 1929 with one customer, Crown Zellerbach, twisting the paper handle cord for their carryout grocery bags. Over the years, we’ve produced everything from Hula-Hoops to swimming pool covers. As Western agriculture and manufacturing grew, we grew, too. Yet, wherever our business took us, our heart always remained in flexible packaging. Today, our high-quality, innovative custom packaging keeps our customers competitive in the global marketplace.
We reinvest our profits to support our technology and our people. In our two manufacturing plants strategically located in the Pacific Northwest, we've brought together a rare combination of talent and machines that gives us a range of capabilities few in our industry can match.
In Toppenish, WA, our multiwall bag machines produce all the standard sizes, plus the largest bags in the industry. In Vancouver, WA, our wide web printing presses allow us to print on a large variety of film and paper substrates, from light gauge film and tissue to heavy paperboard.
We know that it’s only by staying at the forefront of the packaging industry that we’ll be able to advise our customers on the right direction to take their packaging choices. Our entrepreneurial spirit lets us experiment, take risks, then evaluate and learn from our discoveries to deliver long-term results for our clients.
Consult. Collaborate. Serve.
After more than 80 years in business, we’ve learned that open, honest communication and a good sense of humor form the core of teamwork. This ensures that everyone’s ideas and opinions are heard and respected, both within our walls and with our customers. Our team works together to listen closely, solve problems, share the latest information and techniques, and brainstorm solutions. When you sign on with Portco, you’ll have a personal point of contact to an entire team of packaging experts working to anticipate, and then nimbly respond, to your needs.
We make outstanding packaging, but we know we’re also in the service business. Our customers help us stretch our capabilities and collaborate in new ways by bringing us bigger and better challenges throughout the course of our relationship together.
Our years of expertise and collaborative company culture mean we respond quickly, saving our customers time and money and ultimately providing them with a lower overall cost.
We’re also responsible. This principle alone helps us produce quality products we can stand behind. As a company, we make decisions that preserve and protect the environment. As a staff, we shoulder our commitments until our customers are happy.
Serving you, our customers, spurs us to continuously improve our quality, capabilities and competitiveness. It allows us to focus on how to improve the lives of the people within our company and our community, ultimately giving our employees pride of ownership.
For all these reasons, we’re trusted by our clients and respected by our peers.
