Wet-strength paper
Tough, wet-strength paper maintains its integrity regardless of the moisture on the outside of the bag.  Portco seedling bags are designed to withstand adverse weather conditions.

Strong seals
In addition to our standard sewn bottoms, we offer optional "tape over sewn" seals - hot-melt tape over the sewing - which prevents water leakage from the bottom of the package and ensure bags won't come apart at the seams during shipping and handling. 

Custom construction
Bags are manufactured to your size and paper specifications.  Three-ply bags are the most popular, however, two-ply construction for in-house applications is also available.  Most seedling bags incorporate one ply of polyethylene-coated inner sheet to retain moisture in the package and let harmful gasses out.  Bleached outer ply papers are popular due to their high reflectivity, crucial to maintaining lower in-bag temperatures during prolonged UV exposure.  Portco has the capability of creating longer bags than any other manufacturer in the country.
