The
Portco Story
Portco's story began with a simple business philosophy: Provide
quality product. Deliver it to the customer on time. Stay
flexible and willing to try new approaches to improve customer
profitability and cash flow.
Portco Packaging opened it's doors in 1929. And what an amazing
journey it's been. We started with one customer, Crown Zellerbach:
We twisted paper handle cord for
the carryout grocery bag of the day. As Western agriculture and
manufacturing grew,
we grew too. Over the years, we have produced everything from
Hula-Hoops to swimming pool covers. We extruded and printed
plastic pipe and polyethylene film. But our hearts always remained
where the business began, in paper converting.
Today we've returned to our roots. In our new 160,000 square
foot manufacturing
plant, strategically located in Vancouver, Wash., we've brought together
an extremely
rare combination of talent and machines. We now have a range of
capabilities that
few in the paper converting industry can match. Our multiwall bag
machines produce
all the standard sizes, plus the largest bags in the industry. Our
wide web printing
presses allow us to print up to 120 inches in width on all substrates of
paper, from tissue to heavy paperboard. The same is true for our
slitters and rewinders: We can handle all core sizes plus
diameters up to 72 inches and widths up to 132 inches. And our
precision sheeting capabilities are simply state of the art.
We proudly serve such diverse industries as Food Processing, Roofing,
Fresh Potato, Seed and Feed, Sugar, Folding Carton, Commercial Printing,
Building Products, Paper, Paper Tube, and Nursery.
Portco Packaging has been in my family since 1934. Our founder
and my father, Howard Wall, promised that his company would always,
"Do what we say." Today, we adhere to his original
values. We continue to work hard to provide quality product, on
time. We are committed to staying flexible. And we embrace
technologies and new ideas in an effort to better serve our customers.
Let us know what we can do to serve you.
